The Glass Olive
So, want to have a great place for a book signing? How about an upscale martini bar? The Glass Olive is perfect. Almost immediately after I received the contract from my publisher, Laurie and Jeffery Metz, owners in The Glass Olive approached me about doing a signing there. Actually, when we planned it, the book was over a year away and The Glass Olive was still under construction.

We had a great crowd show up, about eighty people.

I had a great show of support from my neighbors, even my old neighbors, Molly and Mike Hunter with Gracie and Sam came out. Oh, and we had a very special event. Greg and Joyce Coffee were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. I had the honor of giving a toast in their honor. Joyce was one of my early readers, giving me advice and encouragement when I needed it.

Also a lot of family came out, as well as a few co-workers. I hope they all had as much fun as I did. Again, it all seemed to go by in a flash, a giant blur. And this time we were there of over 4 hours.

Something I found out. Alcohol and literacy don’t really mix. I had a few beers, 3 to be exact, while I signed books. I KNOW I screwed up at least two. Well, that’s what happens when you mix drinking and… well most anything. And then there was the man that obviously had a few too many. Let’s just say that we had an interesting conversation. He probably woke up wondering where the hell the book came from.
My thanks to Laurie and Jeffery, Jen Kraus (events manager) and the rest of the staff at The Glass Olive for the fantastic venue and a very successful signing.
